by Eric Jilson

This situation probably has happened to everyone: You’re driving along the road and you notice that your car doesn’t sound all that good. Before you realize what’s happening, your poor car takes its last gasps on the side of the road. You need a new car.

Television ads tell you that you need a new car. Although a new car does sound appealing, you’ve also heard from friends that buying a new car is a better idea in the long run. You’re faced with a tough decision. This article will look at the positives and negatives of buying new and used vehicles. This will help you pick the vehicle that’s meant to be yours.

The Glory of New

There’s something powerful about the looks of a brand-new car, all the way from the tantalizing smell to that shiny new paint. In this consumer culture, a new car is a symbol that tells everyone you have made it. There also are other benefits to buying a new car rather than a used car.

Positives:

Most new cars do have good reliability. The warranty also will likely cover any problems that do crop up. Buying a new vehicle also means that you shouldn’t have to worry much about how the vehicle was treated before it became yours.

A number of companies also have roadside assistance for new cars. This gives you peace of mind and can save you the expense of getting a roadside assistance program on your own.

New cars also usually have the highest fuel-efficiency standards and the newest safety features, like side-curtain airbags. You may also find a good financing program with either no interest or low interest rates. This can make it less expensive to buy a new car than it is to buy a used car.

Negatives:

Without a doubt, buying a new car is expensive. Most new cars cost more than used cars, and they depreciate very quickly in value. A new car loses the most value during the first few years that someone owns it.

The difference between what you paid for your car and what it is now worth can be substantial. According to the Kelley Blue Book, the MSRP (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) for a 2007 Ford Focus two-door hatchback is $14,335. The resale value for the same car is $11,995. The value has dropped about $2,300 just for driving the car off the lot.

Buying a new car therefore means that you are getting more debt and losing value more quickly than if you had bought a used car. You’ll also be paying more for car insurance than you would if you had bought a used vehicle.

There are also issues to think about on a deeper level. Buying a new car can contribute to the culture of consumption and not the culture of frugality. If you buy a new car, some would argue that you are buying into the consumerism culture. This can be an expensive proposition.

New cars also don’t stay new for very long. You eventually will find your first nick or scratch. Eventually, the floor will be stained, the doors will have dings, and you won’t have the thrill of having a new car. Your monthly payments will last much longer than your shiny new car.

A Humble Used Car

Although “pre-owned vehicles” - what the car dealers like to call a used car - don’t have the mystique and “shiny” factor of a new car, they are hard to top as a practical financial move. Buying a late model car with few miles can be a bargain seeker’s dream.

Positives:

Buying a used car helps you get the most amount of car at the lowest cost. A late-model used car often costs less than half the cost of a new car. Some dealers’ pre-certified programs come with good warranties. They often include the balance of the factory warranty and the opportunity to buy an extended warranty. Low-mileage, late-model used cars are almost new. You probably don’t notice the difference between a used and a new vehicle if you trade in your car every few years. Most modern cars can go 100,000 or more with few problems. You could probably get 60,000 more miles on a car with 40,000.

You can also buy a used car for only a few thousand dollars if you don’t have much cash and are willing to take a chance on a used car. Buying a care that needs a little tender loving care can cut the amount of money you need to spend on your “new” car.

Negatives:

Some used cars still have the stigma of being unreliable. There may always be a fear of buying someone else’s problem because you don’t know how its last owner treated the car, or why the last owner traded the car into the dealer. Even if the car is fine, you still need to perform maintenance sooner than you would on a new car. That maintenance will include radiator and transmission flushes, new tires, and new brakes.

It also may be difficult to find a used vehicle with the features you want. You also will have fewer options if you buy a lemon. Lemon laws usually only apply to vehicles under a certain age.

New or Used?

You should make your decision to buy a new or used vehicle based on many factors. You should be comfortable with your various financing options, as well as any long-term consequences. You need to feel safe and buy a vehicle that is reliable for your needs and meets your monthly expense budget. Your “new” car also needs to meet your requirements for amenities and features.

by Dirk Gibson

Modern vehicles are incredibly complex when compared to their predecessors. That being said, they still face the same enemies of the very first engines. Yes, I am talking about friction and the resulting heat it causes.

As any car owner well knows, lubricant is the best tool for fighting the ravages of friction and heat. This lubricant is, of course, better known as motor oil and it performs a vital function that keeps your car on the road.

Motor oil can take an absolute beating. That being said, the modern car engine will give it one. From stop and start traffic to hot climates, you will have to change your oil sooner or later.

Everyone knows about changing out motor oil, right? What did you immediately think? It needs to be changed every three months? How about every 3,000 miles? If either of these came to mind, you are thinking of a marketing campaign, not the facts.

Do you really think you need to automatically change you oil every 3 months? What if you only drove the car once during that period? The simple truth is every car faces different circumstances and thus needs oil changed at different times.

How can there really be one standard for changing oil? Just use your common sense. A car used to drive to the store and back needs few oil changes. A car that sits in stop and go traffic every day for 2 hours definitely needs more of them.

Okay, we need some idea of when to do the oil change. Luckily, the manufacturer has helped us out. Find your owners manual. In the oil section, the manufacturer will lay out the specifics for this vehicle. It will not be three months or 3,000 miles.

The manufacturer will actually specify a number of different things. The time frame and miles for a change are obvious bits of information. The manufacturer, however, will also designate a weight of oil and brand as well.

Now pay attention. The miles and brand of oil are important, but the information on the weight of oil to be used is absolutely critical. You can get the miles and brand wrong, but do not get the weight wrong under any circumstances.

You are often going to have a choice between normal and synthetic oils. The synthetic oils are really great. They can last for 10,000 to 15,000 miles. Make sure to look at the different brands and their expected life spans.

When it comes to motor oil, I actually have a favorite brand. Mobil 1 is something I highly recommend and have had recommended to me by auto mechanics. It is more expensive, but I have never had engine problems using it.

Do not be a chump. Avoid obeying the marketing slogans of various oil change businesses. Pull out that owners manual and get the truth on oil changes for your car. You will undoubtedly save some money on less frequent changes.

by Darren Cason

To be successful financially, you have to show some motivation and independent thinking. This includes the decisions you make regarding the type of vehicle you drive and some intelligent decisions you make regarding that choice. You can make a “wheel” difference to your net worth just by understanding how to make a cost effective choice regarding your means of transportation.

Your Purpose-Driven Car

Choosing a car does not have to take on the significance of a religious decision, but you should seriously consider why you think you need a car, if at all. If you cannot do without a car, it is sensible to be wise to the salespeople who will appeal to your desire for a status symbol. Choosing a car to look good will undoubtedly cost you in the long run.

Drive Vs. Alternative Arrive

According to the AAA’s study, “Your Driving Costs” (2006) it costs, on average, $8,000 a year to own a motor vehicle. The cost is higher for SUVs and minivans. It can be double that if you choose to update your luxury car every two to three years. These figures were calculated based on the car travelling 15,000 miles per year.

Think about it - do you really need a car so much that you are willing to spend such a hugh sum, when you can save thousands by car pooling or using public transport? This amount of savings would take into account the times you may need to call for a taxi or rent a car in absolute emergencies. If you are able to, it is also a great cost saving, as a new family previously on two incomes, to cut back to one car and therefore live on one income.

Why do cars costs so much? After all, there are all those ads that claim it only costs $299 per month! What they don’t tell you about are the high deposits required, or the sales tax, or the fact that the loan is over such a long period of time that what you are left with when you have finally paid the last instalment is a car that is not worth much at all because of depreciation. They also don’t mention the cost of fuel, maintenance, or insurance that has to be added to the cost of owning a car.

New Vs. Used:

It is mostly the case that a fancy new car with all the extras will cost you more than a late model used car. The new car will depreciate at a very fast rate. The used car has already gone through the worst of its depreciation and it will cost you around one third of the price of a new car. There is also the problem that a completely new model of car could have some unforeseen problems; it does not have any reliability records, so you don’t know what you are buying, nor do you know the potential repair costs.

One positive about purchasing a new car is the extended warranty period, which may balance out the cost of a new car against that of a used car, when you don’t know its service history.

Insurance

The most attractive cars attract the highest insurance premiums due to their desirability amongst thieves and they often cost more to repair. One example is that the humble Honda Accord that has an insurance premium around 20% less than the more desirable Acura.

SUVs usually cost more to insure as well because their repair costs are higher. It is usually the case that a late model used car will cost 10% less to insure than the same car when new.

Use, Convenience and Safety

For a number of people in high-powered positions, such as consultants or entrepreneurs who need to transport clients, their car can be seen as an extension of their “image”. Paying extra for the appearance and the added features of such a car may be considered a worthy investment. In some cases, a SUV may be justified, especially if you are required to transport clients and their luggage around.

When choosing a SUV, keep in mind that, whilst some of the “crossover” models have improved, more “car-like” handling, many still have problems with fuel efficiency and can be more prone to rolling or other accidents related to the handling of the vehicle than a standard passenger vehicle.

Should You Lease, Loan, or Fully Own?

It is a sad fact of life that, unless you are looking to purchase a true classic vehicle, your investment will depreciate. There are ways to keep the depreciation as low as possible and ways to keep the operating costs at their lowest:

Loser Leasing

At first appearance, leasing a car gives you a new asset in return for monthly payments that appear reasonable. In fact, leasing is in fact a loan on the biggest depreciating portion of the car’s life, that is, the first few years. The cycle repeats itself as you replace the old car with a new model, so you never see the benefits of reduced operating costs associated with an older vehicle.

Leasing can also be an expensive trap. Because lease contracts are far from simple, you may think that you have struck a good deal, when in fact you are paying hundreds or maybe thousands of dollars over the term of the lease that you should not have had to.

Swimming with the Loan Shark

You may find yourself in financial difficulties if you miss a payment and have to resort to extending the loan on a vehicle that is now worth less than the amount of the loan that you still owe. You may also find that the “great deal” you made with the dealer’s finance will cause you grief should you have to sell the vehicle in an attempt to repair your finances. It is better to arrange a loan with a reputable bank or credit union.

Cash In and Out on Ownership

Patience and cunning are the keys here. Researching a particular vehicle’s market value, finding the best dealers and having your possible purchase checked over mechanically before you pay cash for a fuel efficient late model used vehicle is a wise move financially. Why? Because the “middle years” of the life of a car are the least expensive when it comes to maintenance.

Paying cash for your vehicle also avoids the burden of monthly payments, which you can then put aside for the maintenance of the vehicle as well as saving some cash towards the purchase of your next (late model) car in the near future.

It is the case, though, that there are people who either don’t have the time or persistence or the ability to negotiate a deal to be able to make a successful cash transaction. The option for these people is to buy a late model vehicle that is high in quality but is not in the luxury category and simply running it until it “dies”. Yes, the maintenance costs will be higher as the car ages, but there will be no real value in the car to depreciate and as such the annual running costs will be less for the ensuing years when you can keep it going until you can buy another late model or new car.

If it is necessary for you to purchase a new car, make sure that it is as reliable and as fuel efficient as possible.

By the Light of a Silvery Moon Roof

If a new car is your option and you are going to sell it on before the maintenance costs become too high, you should ensure that you maximise the marketability of the vehicle and keep the depreciation as low as possible. Some cars depreciate very quickly, so choose carefully.

There are some “extras” that will help the vehicle maintain its value, including sun/moon roofs and better seating. Safety features such as airbags don’t, but they should be a consideration purely for their safety aspects and they will be a plus with the insurance companies and when you are ready to sell the vehicle on, they will increase the chances of someone buying the vehicle.

Drive Down Your Car Costs

There is good news and bad news. The good news is that with the advancement of safety features in vehicles, insurance costs have become lower. The bad news is that poor drivers will see their insurance premiums skyrocket - only the good drivers will see the benefits of lower premiums.

It is obvious, then, that you will save a great deal of money when you have worked out these skills:

When you are in the process of negotiating a new lease or purchase, don’t fall prey to what is listed in “special extras” of many car companies, for example, extended warranty periods. You might be paying more on what are not necessary. Paying for extras might affect your credit report rating.

Do your homework regarding the reasonable price of a good used car, so you know where you stand, whether you are buying from a dealer or privately.

Find the best mechanics that will give you the best deal.

Go for a more fuel efficient vehicle and one that is reliable, but be wary of the hybrid claims as they are often much more expensive to purchase initially and their repair costs are higher.

Make sure that your insurance cover meets all of your needs.

Extending one’s expression of style to his vehicle has always been a part of popular culture or pop culture. Although fads may be short-lived, what’s important is that ideas were expressed and shown in a unique or strangest way as possible. Car styling has been known to create fads in creating agreeable and unconventional methods of beefing up the appearance of vehicles. From window tinting to trim applications, vehicles have developed a sense of fashion depending on which trend is currently popularized. For instance, the inclusion of train horns in street vehicles inevitably roused positive and negative impressions. The fads created by train horns in pop culture appeal to the artistry, image and annoyance of various groups of people.

The train horn is conventionally used to signal the arrival of the train or its proximity to the station. In sports it is used as the cue to certain actions or proceedings. Today, the train horn has become a part of the customized vehicle. It is in a way an attempt on the part of the car owner to deviate from the conventionalities of the vehicle and add to it something new, like the train horn and be able to enjoy a louder, intimidating and more aggressive way of honking down the street.

Although some people may not understand why certain vehicle owners spend a lot of money in restyling and modifying their vehicles, some perceive the act as a matter of self-gratifying expressions. While having wing doors and lowered car frames and bumpers may seem sleek and original to some group, some would differ from their preferences. All of this is a matter of expressions of views towards the existing popular culture. The popularity of using train horns as truck or car horns exemplified the impact of the fad brought by train horns in popular culture.

Aside from vehicles, train horns are used in a number of expressions. For instance, it is used as a distraction inside a noisy classroom, causing a moment of silence. Train horns may even be used as retaliation to the persistence of telemarketers or other harassing callers. This is in hope that blasting the phone with a deafening honking sound will deter future calls. When it comes to music, train horns may be collaborated with other instruments, completing a unique blend of tune and genre of music such as those observed in reggae music or reggae hybrid genre. However, the most popular application of train horns in popular culture is as trucks horns.

There’s a curious legal problem associated with the use of train horns in cars. Using a train horn is a mode of the right of self-expression and can this right be denied to any citizen. Yes, perhaps it can if it’s harming or disturbing others. Imposing decibel level restrictions was tried out once but the police found it impossible to enforce. The owners install them precisely for their loudness! But the horns are sold with markings indicating loudness that’s different from what is achieved, so clear proof of violation is impossible! Environmental sensitivity and consideration are needed but today’s macho show-offs lack both.

A person buying a car is required by law to buy insurance for it even before he drives away from the lot. Buying car insurance is the most sensible and important thing a person buying a car does. What type of cover you wish to have depends on you. You can get a cheap car insurance quote by browsing on the internet. If you have bought a comprehensive cover then you can sit back and relax.

In the event that you and your vehicle are involved in an accident or theft, an insurance claim must be filed to help with repairs and financial coverage for any other loss or damage from the incident. Submitting the claim should be relatively simple if done carefully and with an open mind, but doing it as soon as possible should help expedite the settlement process and the awarding of any compensation.

A police report must be filed and on record when making any car insurance claim due to an accident or theft. The insurance company will require a copy of the police report along with your claim, especially when a car accident results in death or injury. Also required when you file your claim is accurate and detailed information such as time and place of an accident or theft plus names, contact information, license (driversa and auto) numbers and insurance policy numbers of anyone who is involved in or a witness to the incident in question.

In the spirit of fair and equal information exchange, inquiries by your insurance agent or company into the car accident or theft for verification purposes are expected. As you willingly share all the details that you have gathered, you will likely be encouraged to enter all such data in writing or online, as well as follow other claims-oriented procedures. During the filing process, you should begin inquiring about the amounts and wait-times for any possible compensation for loss and repairs, which, again, can vary depending on your policy and amount of coverage.

If your insurance policy includes collision coverage, then you should receive compensation for damage from any accident, even if it involved another vehicle or inanimate objects such as trees or walls. Ask your agent about having your car repaired. The agent should inform you of not only any repair estimate requirements, but also which auto repair/body shops you should go to for these. If anything is unclear, ask your question again, as it is better to inquire more than once than to learn later that you will have to pay such amounts out-of-pocket, etc.

The claimant should also ask the agent about the time within which the claim will be settled. He can ask for information like the policy of his insurance provider with regards to car rentals and does his policy cover it. He should obtain detailed information about what benefits he can avail through his insurance cover. The insurance company is bound to give true information to the claimant and it makes the task of the claimant easier.

A good and reputable insurance carrier will be direct and honest about policy details and will keep you informed of the progress in the processing of your claim. If you are fortunate enough to have a car insurance policy that is comprehensive, then you should not have to concern yourself with troublesome details such as out-of-pocket expenses, for damages will be taken care of by the insurance carrier, no matter who is at fault in an accident.

The car insurance claims filing process does not have to be a nightmare. It can be a relatively simple and worry-free submission, especially if you keep your head on straight and remain assertive, persistent and smart. The process will flow more smoothly and you will see your compensation that much more quickly.

by Pamella Neely

What four things should your consider when trying to decide to donate a car or sell it? These four very important things are: 1)the value of the car, 2)a charity that could use the car, 3)your tax bracket, and 4)the value of your time.

First, when we say determine the value of your car, this means the “real value”. A common mistake, made by many people, is to just automatically assume that they will get whatever dollar value Kelley Blue Book reports. KBB is a good value base but it’s sometimes not realistic. You can start by cutting that KBB value by 30% to guess the amount you will most likely get from a buyer. For example: Let’s say a 1989 Mercury Topaz - in zip code 15045 with 170,000 miles - in fair condition with standard features - could have a trade-in value of $760 and a private party value of $1525. Cutting that private party value by 30% gives us a new value of $1067.50.

Whatever price you get from the estimated KBB price that has been discounted will have to be cut again based on your income tax bracket. Let’s say you are in a 25% bracket, and you come up with a value of $1000 for your car. You will have to discount it further by the income bracket percentage to get the true value. In this case, the car would really only be bringing you $750 net.

Other expenses also need to be factored in. You need to advertise. Let’s say you spend $80 on advertising. That means only $670 for the car now. You may also need to have it professionally detailed. Subtract another $70 for that. Now your car is only going to net $600.

Most people want assurance that the car is running correctly before they offer it for sale. To get a mechanic to check it out and write you an information sheet to show the buyer, you will have to invest approximately another $75 or so. Also, the appearance of the exterior can mean a lot toward getting top dollar. You may want to do body work as necessary to give it that pristine appearance. That will be and added expense to insure top dollar.

We are now down to $595 as the value for the car. There may still be other expenses to consider, such as body damage repairs or mechanical repairs that are necessary to be able to sell it. Then, you would be down to even less than that value.

Let’s look at the difference in profit potential for donating compared to selling. Most donated cars are sold at auction. The IRS says they must be sold at auction and in use shortly after you have given it away in order to take the full deduction. Your tax deduction will more than likely be $500 or the auction price. If you get only the $500 deduction, you will be netting just $25 less than all the trouble of selling it. Is it really worth it?

To most of us, our time is extremely valuable. You only have a limited amount of time, and probably could find something better to spend it on than fixing up and selling a car for such a small amount of net profit. You will have to arrange you schedule to allow time to handle the sale, plus having to deal with strangers. Is it worth it to you?

What kind of time are you looking at to sell a car? Count on an hour and a half or so making signs and/or producing ads. Another one hour can be consumed in phone calls. Mechanic appointments may take two hours and may be inconvenient with work schedules. Cleaning and detailing may consume another half hour. You have easily just used up five hours before you ever get the car sold.

You can expect to have to show the car five to ten times before you get a buyer. You will have to schedule the showings at the customers convenience, and sometimes will schedule an appointment to show the car and have them not show up. This can eat up the time, and add as much as three hours to the time required to sell your car.

Add it all up and it takes approximately eight hours and about a dozen different steps to sell your car. In comparison, when you donate a car, it’s a matter of one phone call before a tow truck comes to haul the vehicle away. The car is put on auction and eventually goes to a person in need. You don’t think or worry about it until it’s time to claim your tax deduction. So, are you ready to donate your car?

by Dirk Gibson

There are many lessons to be learned from this season in Formula One. The first is that Fernando Alonso is still a master. The second is Ferrari needs a dominant driver given the fall of Kimi.

There are many strong points to F1 racing, but there are also many shortcomings. Critics are correct in asserting drivers are to passive and races can be boring with only a few passes even attempted much less made.

What would spice up Formula One? A good rivalry. One already exists between Ferrari and McLaren. The dust up over the spying last year only caused the animosity to fester even more. Still, angry manufacturers do not make for an emotional rivalry.

How great would a driver rivalry be? Look at last year. Alonso and Hamilton went at it so hard on the same team that they forgot about Kimi and let him win the title. It made for great entertainment and racing.

For much of this season, the rivalry has short circuited do to the poor performance of the Renault. That has changed recently and what has happened? Alonso and Hamilton have fired up the rivalry. Hopefully, they will meet on the track in the last few races as well.

This season has seen a switch for the manufacturers. The Ferrari is the superior car, but driver and team errors have been common. McLaren is a bit slower, but Hamilton has been a superior driver, particularly in the rain.

Take the current Ferrari team and add Alonso to it for 2009. He is a dominant personality, much like Shumi was before. It is hard to imagine the team having the same gaffs as this year. Alonso is also a superior wet driver, which makes up a shortfall.

Who would Alonso replace? The obvious answer is Raikkonen. I love Kimi, but he is done. He may have a contract for next year, but Ferrari would be crazy not to let him go. Do not be surprised if something does not come together in the offseason.

When it comes to Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, you simply cannot sit on the fence. You love one of them and think the other is a no good punk. Whatever your choice, a rivalry built around these two drivers would be epic.

The first race of the season comes up. On the front row we find our two combatants. Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren. Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari. Tell me you would not pay a pretty penny to see turn one of that race!

In the big picture, it is hard to imagine why Alonso would not end up at Ferrari. He clearly desires it and Ferrari must realize it has a driver problem. Let us hope the move happens so 2009 can be a season for the ages.

by Adrian Fletcher

If you are handy with simple basic automotive tools or have a knack for tinkering, you could be reaping the benefits of having a hydrogen gas saver installed in your car. The primary benefits of this system include increased gas mileage but given the addition on hydrogen to your fuel mix you could also expect reduced emissions, reduced operating costs, and a contribution to a greener environment.

There are two routes to installing a hydrogen gas saver system. There are plans available for purchase for the person who is handy or knows someone who is. The items to build this system can be found at most automotive outlets, home improvement stores or specialty distributors. Depending on your plans and where you purchase your supplies, the construction of your hydrogen gas saver can run anywhere from less than $200 to several thousand dollars. There are plenty of internet sites where you can purchase step-by-step instructions to install so-called water for gas units.

Hydrogen gas saver conversion kits basically work as miniature hydrogen plants in your vehicle. Using as little as a quart of water these systems are able to extract hydrogen gas from the water using a small amount of electric current from the vehicle’s charging system. The hydrogen gas extracted from the water is then introduced into the air fuel mixture already entering your vehicle through the induction system. These types of systems are adaptable to almost every vehicle that rolls or floats. From all terrain vehicles a.k.a. ATV’s to yachts there is a hydrogen gas saver kit out there for you.

If you really want to invest in a hydrogen gas saver but the do-it-yourself way is not your cup of tea, you can just as easily find deluxe models on the market. Typically, the manufacturer or a licensed professional can install a high-end hydrogen gas saver system in your vehicle.

Installation centers for hydrogen vehicle conversions are not very common in areas that do not have access to a hydrogen plant or hydrogen fueling stations. Even if you cannot find an installation center near you, you can still contact the one closest to you and ask for advice on finding a center or perhaps even shipping your vehicle to the installation center. Many of the online guides that show you how to make these hydrogen generators also list people that will do the job for you if you don’t want to get your hands dirty.

Even though the company offering a kit or installation instructions to convert your car’s fueling system to the hydrogen gas saver might claim that installation will not affect your car’s manufacturer warranty, make sure you call or otherwise speak with the dealer who sold the car to you, or even the main office of your car’s manufacturer. Make sure to get any statements in writing to protect yourself.

When it comes to saving money and helping the environment, the hydrogen gas saver could be a good investment. If installed properly, deciding to convert your vehicle to a hydrogen gas saver system may be a good choice. Depending on your installation, you might even be eligible for a tax credit. You’ll need to check with the IRS first, but this could mean even more money for you!

Train horns have been in use since the first locomotive was invented. Engineers use the horns to scare wild animals off the track, and to alert oncoming traffic of the presence of a train approaching a railroad crossing, they are used also to alert passengers that are boarding that it is time to leave. Railroad employee’s often use a train horn when they are working on the tracks and during the switching operations.

Air horns were originally used in locomotives; similar to those used on trucks. However, as trains moved to internal combustion engines over steam or coal power, these horns were not loud enough to be heard over the new diesel engines. Truck horns were retooled by engineers at rail companies, with oscillation being used to push air through a power chamber and vibrate against a nozzle to create the sound we all know. The placement of the diaphragm lets more or less air to be pushed through, making for a horn which is louder or softer. Trains built before 1990 still employed the manual pull cord horns (the technique is called feathering). The pull cord allows the engineer to have some control over the volume of the horn. Since this time, trains began using pushbuttons and pedals to control the horn instead.

In the past few years, train horns have become a sort of fad with many vehicle customizers for their own personal trucks and vans. Train horns are not manufactured for private use because people know that when they hear one there is usually a train coming, and if a train horn is used in normal traffic it tends to cause accidents, and in many places, it is against the law to operate a train horn. Train horns themselves have even come under scrutiny as some communities have developed quiet zones, and the engineers were instructed only to sound the horns in case of an emergency. Because of these laws, many automobile and pedestrian accidents have happened. With the speed of a train, and the amount of weight behind the engine a train hitting and automobile is like a truck running over an aluminum can, the can will be flattened.

The sounds of train horns differ in meaning from rail company to rail company, as well as from country to country.

In the U.S., the standard signal given by train horns at a crossing is two long horn sounds, followed by one short and one long. This pattern is repeated until the train has passed the crossing. In Florida, there was a ban on the use of train horns in many locales; however, this ban was lifted in only a few years because of the greatly increased rate of train accidents.

Even though train horns are very annoying there is a definite purpose for them and people should not abuse them; or try to make quite zones where a train horn should be sounded.

by Kole Olawumi

Advance auto part coupons are a an effective way to save expenses on the frequent maintenance for your car. This maintenance is something you have to do anyway, so looking for and using coupons may only be a profit for you.

Let me show you few ways of finding and using advance auto part coupons

Save Coupons As You Locate Them.

Coupons are being mailed to us from time to time. Most of the time it contain coupons or flayers from local malls, and be sure to include coupons from auto part stores. save these kind of advance auto part coupons, Even if it is a part you did not need at the end of the day, and you discard the coupon when it expires, the worst that can happen is that the coupon will fill up up some space on your refrigerator or in your locker for sometimes.

Best thing that might occur, of course, is that you find the coupon at just the best period to save cost on something important you must do anyway . some of the auto parts that you can get advance auto part coupon on are ;alternators, air filter etc.

Try Your Usual Car Part Store

Check with your preferred auto repair shop. If you have a favorite shop you usually buy your auto parts from, do not go somewhere else just because you have it’s coupon. There is a reason why that site is your favorite, and you might end up being displeased if you order your part someplace else. Instead, make enquiries with your preferred site and see what offers they are running. They could have handbills with their recent coupons in the store, so they might give the special deals to patronizers when they ask, particularly loyal returning customers like you. Or they could be able to tell you how you can get your hands on their specific coupons on the net, in the local paper, or in a mailing they sent out recently.

There is also another possibility you may look at. Sometimes one site will honor another store’s advance auto part coupons, just to get (or keep) you as customer, But this is a very rear occasion i must say.

Search For Coupons And Use Them

We have a lot of resources online if you find yourself needing a particular advance auto part coupon. For instance, sites like ValPak gives a searchable coupon database. You just print the coupons you need, and take them with you when you go.

Buying auto parts may be costly, so is smart to look for all possible methods to reduce cost. A great method to save cost is to put to good use advance auto part coupons for expenses you’ll have one way or another. I hope these suggested methods have given you some ideas oh how and where you can save money on ordering auto parts.

In order to operate a motor vehicle we are required to purchase auto insurance for the priveledge. In general we walk into an insurance agency with little to no knowledge about the process, willing to accept what’s handed to us with minimal information about what’s actually covered.

People tend to trust those in business, we follow blindly their directions and commands giving no thought to possible problems! After all, this person is a professional right? This especially applies with auto insurance. We cling to our policy, believing it to be the best without realizing the possible pitfalls.

Some people buy car insurance as it is required by law. What people generally do is they log on to the internet and obtain cheap car insurance quote. They compare these quotes and buy a cheap car insurance policy for themselves. They do not go into the details and just remain ignorant about the vital aspects of their insurance policy.

One of the pitfalls of car insurance is that people do not read the fine print before buying car insurance. They just skim through the basics and do not try to understand the repercussions of various clauses. If a person is paying below average insurance premium then, there are chances that his car will not have proper coverage against various kinds of harm. He might be saving some premium each month but in the event of an accident or theft he will get lesser compensation. So if a person pays low premium it does not translate into more savings.

Many insurance companies offer special services such as road side assistance, and free car rentals. Many people have been at the scene of their accident, traumatized, possibly even injured only to hear when they think they have someone to take care of their car, an extra fee of some kind is involved. There may also be penalties to be paid for something as simple as changing your location to another state!

Similarly free rentals are provided for specific time period only and when buying the car insurance, people do not look into these details. Suppose the insurance company gives free rentals only for 10 days and a person does not get his car back from the repair shop till 20 days then he has to shell out the money for the next 10 days from his pocket.

When a person insures his car he does not get insurance cover for any valuable items he has in his car. A person has loads of cash or some very expensive item in his car. The car gets stolen and the item inside the car also is lost. The insurance provider will let the car owner file a claim only to the extent of the car value. He cannot claim for the objects or cash he had in his car and which he lost. This is true in case your sound system, mobile phone, briefcase etc is stolen from your car.

Remember, you get what you pay for. When purchasing auto insurance, always ask questions! Who is covered to drive my car under this policy, what exactly is covered in case of accident? Always always remember to read the fine print! It can mean the difference between a horrible nightmare, or a minor inconvenience when involved in an accident.

Some people might think I’m crazy to spend $250 on a car seat when I could go down to Walmart and get a booster for my 6 year old for $20. However, I’m very particular about the car seats I put my kids in. Why? Because should I ever get into a car accident with them, I don’t want to wish they’d been more secure.

Unfortunately, my fears have a basis. There are numerous stories all over the internet about how seat belts used with boosters have failed when they were needed the most - in the middle of a car accident. Someone I know lost their 10 month old baby because the car seat belt failed when their car lost control and rolled.

Because I never want to worry about it while I’m driving, I’ve researched all kinds of car seats and their safety. I’ve learned that keeping a child in a 5-point harness for as long as possible is the safest thing to do, and only two car seat brands allow for this feature in their car seats. Those brands are Britax and Sunshine Kids.

I decided to buy the Sunshine Radian 80 car seats. I felt they would keep my girls nice and safe up until they are 80 pounds. Most car seats have weight limits of 40 pounds and then want you to move your kids into a booster. The Sunshine Radian keeps them safest in the 5 point harness for double the normal weight limits! They also have some other great features as well.

Sunshine Radian car seats have internal steel frames. - Unlike other car seats, there’s no plastic to deteriorate in the hot sun.

Rear-facing and forward-facing - these car seats are convertible so they work for both infants and booster seat aged kids.

Stylish - you can’t beat the cute patterns they have for little girls’ seats.

LATCH - I love the fact that you can harness these seats directly to your car without depending on the car’s seat belt system. Seat belts unfortunately have been known to fail far too often.

Transportable - while the Sunshine Radian 80 seats are heavy due to the strong steel frame, they do fold up nicely and transport easily like a backpack. This feature is pretty neat if you have to do airline travel.

Not bulky - these car seats are narrow enough that you can actually fit three of them side by side in most cars. That feature alone is worth a lot!

I never regret buying my Sunshine Kids Radian 80 car seat. My kids are in one of the safest car seats on the market and comfortable to boot. The extra money was definitely worth it!

Europe has been home to the Maxi-Cosi car seat for years. The car seats have recently in the last year been introduced to the United States. These car seats have received some the highest safety marks.

While the car seats are simple and yet very stylish so that they’ll fit into nearly every on-the-go family’s needs, the Maxi-Cosi car seat company has set very high standards for safety. They use quality materials that are not going to fall apart quickly. The combination of style and safety have brought a wonderful reputation to the company and rendered them as one of the top selling car seat manufacturers in the European market. Because of this, parents that are active and busy can rest assured that their child will be safe as well as comfortable.

Maxi-Cosi car seats are ones that European moms and dads have chosen for many years. There are quite a nice range of car seats to choose from boosters to full-sized car seats. You can get a seat to meet any need from infancy thru childhood. What’s neat is that while you have a great safe seat, you also get style when you get a Maxi-Cosi car seat. You don’t have to suffer with low quality materials and basic boring designs like you’d get at your local Wal-Mart type store.

The seats come in all kinds of cool colors and designs. You’ll find a great supply of bright colors to bring joy to the car-ride, as well as some great car seat accessories to make things more fun as well. You won’t have to worry about your child being uncomfortable either!

Seats for your infant, as well as some great convertible and booster seats are available. You’ll find that the prices for these are higher than for others in the same age-weight range, but that’s because Maxi-Cosi goes to great length to ensure that the car seat is very, very safe.

Reviews from parents around the world all claim that these are the best seats available. Many will purchase more as their children grow from infancy to toddlers. Some reviews have state that you will not find a seat like these from any other manufacturer. Safety is the number one concern for many of the parents who have purchased car seats. Maxi-Cosi has proved to be awarded one of the safest seats. A five star rating has definitely caught the eye of many parents looking for the perfect seat to reflect the personality of their child.

In fact, it can be very dangerous IF you don’t elect to use your brain! Hydrogen or any gas system using hydrogen is not something to mess around with! I’ve heard of some idiots that have tried to ignite hydrogen as a means of amusement… DUMB! “Well, I just needed to see if it would go up in flames,” one woman stated. Of course it ignites, duhh? Hydrogen will blow-up if you put fire of any kind to it and rest assured it will fan rapidly.

All through the “Run your Car on Water” conversion system I used, there were tons of warning scribbles for all areas that have the potential to injur you or blast your auto. When it came to things like toxic glues, etc.., the conversion manuals writer placed discreet warnings that are impossible to bypass.

Now, with that out of the way, Hydrogen-On-Demand technology is not anymore more dangerous than traditional car technologies involving fuel, cooling, etc. For example, everyone knows the radiator is necessary to cool-down the engine. Without it, your auto would easily go up in smoke!

But, if you open the radiator cap when it’s smoking hot, you will get burned, right? The problem is not in the radiator by itself, the problem is in lack of awareness and carelessness. There are simple safety rules and it’s necessary to understand and apply them.

When undertaking this easy conversion of your car to make it run on water, follow the extensive guidelines in the conversion manual. If you do this, it would be very hard to hurt yourself. I’ve never heard of or experienced any explosions or meltdowns. For safety, follow the step-by-step manual word for word!

Here’s a real-life instance. The chapter that discusses installation advises that you must keep the output-hose at a distance of four feet in order to prevent fire explosions. Don’t even think to cut it short even if the hose is closer than four feet. So, it may cost you a couple bucks, but it saves much trouble!

It is especially important to note, Hydrogen-On-Demand (or Water Fuel) is not synonymous with stored Hydrogen! In a normal system, it uses all the hydrogen that is produced immediately. Nowhere is there a hydrogen storage tank to explode in case of a car accident. This water fuel technology has proven to be MUCH SAFER than hydrogen cars or propane / natural gas automobiles.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not hazardous for your car / truck at all. Many have noted that they have seen their gas mileage increase by as much as 100% after implementing the hybrid conversion, too.

by Brad Seabourne

An automobile alarm is an audible security system which activates as a loud noise if a possible break-in is detected. Not only are these systems annoyingly loud, they also are often false alarms and consequently, often ignored. Many vehicle security systems currently exist which are much more technologically advanced.

To help reduce the billion-dollars of car theft, manufacturers have developed innovative technology with two-way communication remotes to warn you when your vehicle’s engine is started and notify you why the alarm was activated. The most common options in newer car security systems include glass break sensors, a two-way communication remote and passive arming.

If you are away from your vehicle you will not hear an audible alarm, and if you are on vacation it might be days before realize your car is missing from the garage. Many vehicle security systems will automatically call a phone number you have programmed or send a text message to notify you of a break in. The two-stage automatic car alarms can inform you if your car has simply been bumped or if the engine is running and car is moving.

If the vehicle is moving, you could communicate to the automatic car alarm to turn off the fuel pump, which will effectively stop the vehicle. Of course, if your car is on the back of a tow truck, stopping the engine will not prevent the theft. Many of the newer vehicle security systems are also equipped with GPS tracking devices to keep tabs on your vehicle’s location.

Keeping Car Jackers at Bay: Many vehicle alarm models come with a built-in anti-car-jacking mechanism, which allows you to cut the gas by just pushing a button. The switch is generally nearby the seat belt release, and once pressed it will cut off the gas and put on the brakes to bring the vehicle to a halt. This puts you in control when a dangerous situation might have made you a victim. Having this system means that you can be proactive in making sure that your car is always safe from being stolen.

Often these systems will alert police in the event of a car jacking. Most systems are intended to quickly notify authorities that something is happening and can be invaluable in life-threatening situations. Approaching a car thief in the middle of stealing your vehicle can be very dangerous. It is better to let law enforcement handle the situation. Once your automatic car alarm informs you with a phone call or text message that the car is being stolen, you can notify the police, who will have a head start on catching the thief in the act.

Are you in debt now? If the answer is a Yes, you may probably want to find some ways to ease the problem. In fact, there are a lot of ways to do so. One of the ways you will probably think of is debt consolidation.

In fact, there is a case that debt consolidation may not be your choice. If you only have a single debt, you will only need to deal with one creditor. In this case debt consolidation may not be really suitable for you. It should be consider when you are in debts from different lenders or creditors.

So what is your current situation when your debts are concerned? Are your dealing with five lenders presently? If your answer is a YES, you may want to consolidate your debts before it is too late.

Undoubtedly, it will be a very good option for some people to consider debt consolidation. There are a number of pros when you consolidate your debts. You will also want to consider all these advantages before you make your final decision.

As discussed, you will go for the option of debt consolidation if you need to deal with various creditors currently. This is the first advantage for you to consolidate your debts. Only one lender will be left after the process of debt consolidation. With any surprise, it will be a lot easier for you to deal with your debt problem in this case.

In most cases you will get a lower interest rate after debt consolidation. This is why you are seeking for it! There is not point for you to consolidate your debt if you are not going to pay less interest. This is also one of the reasons for people to seek for this solution.

Of course there are also some disadvantages associated with debt consolidation. A lot of people will get more debts after debt consolidation. This is because the interest is reduced and they may think that they can afford more debts. However, this should not be a problem if you can control yourself.

Last but not the least, debt consolidation is only one of your options. This can be an ultimate debt solution for some people. However, this may not work for some other people. You will need to consider carefully before you make your decision.

There are many different ways to make hydrogen fuel. Some of these involve burning trash to generate the heat required to break hydrogen out of natural gas or water. You won’t be able to drive on a banana peel, but that peel can be used by a hydrogen production facility to produce the fuel that your hydrogen powered car can use to operate.

Hydrogen powered cars can utilize hydrogen through several different methods. A hydrogen internal combustion engine powered vehicle utilizes the same engine used in the gasoline-powered production models with the exception of being modified to burn hydrogen fuel.

Existing cars can be retrofitted as hydrogen powered cars with specially designed installations to completely do away with gasoline as the fuel source altough this could be expensive. There are also kits available that show you how to modify gasoline engines so that hydrogen gas is added to the current air gasoline mixture. This modification not only results in dramatically improved emissions, but in strikingly higher gas mileage as well.

Powering cars through the use of hydrogen fuel can result in a vehicle that does not leave a carbon footprint since there are virtually no emissions. Hydrogen powered cars are also approximately three times more efficient than traditional gasoline fueled cars. Electric cars use hydrogen fuel to generate their own electricity. The hydrogen can be stored in a tank, fed into a fuel cell where it is converted into electrical power, and then used to supply the power that the vehicle requires.

Hydrogen fuel is an efficiently produced energy source. While gasoline production in the United States currently requires about three hundred billion gallons of water, the production of the same amount of hydrogen fuel takes about one hundred billion gallons. What this translates to is that hydrogen fuel production only costs roughly half of what it costs to produce the equivalent amount of gasoline.

The number of hydrogen powered cars will increase steadily as hydrogen fueling stations become more available. Starting in 2008, several hydrogen powered vehicles will already be available in limited numbers. Even now, every major automobile company is working on designing and engineering its own model. Some car makers are also trying to develop in-home systems that produce hydrogen, meaning that we could conceivably not only have pumps in the driveway to fuel up hydrogen powered cars in the future, but we could also supply hydrogen fuel to supply electrical power to our homes.

Hydrogen powered cars are at least as safe as any gasoline-powered car. The hydrogen comes in specially designed tanks that won’t leak any hydrogen fuel, even under extreme conditions.

At the current time it is difficult for people to get a loan from a bank. The banks are not even loaning their money to qualified people. So, how can the typical person afford to buy a car? Well, they look at used cars instead because they are more affordable.

People are considering purchasing slightly used cars over new and expensive cars because of the costs. Since the banks are not lending money at the time people need to find another way to get what they want. One way is to pay cash for the items that you need which includes a car.

Inexpensive cars will heighten the sales for used car salesman and decrease the sales of new cars. There is one problem with this whole scenario. The problem is that people do not like to purchase used cars because of the stigma they have.

The trick to selling cars is not dishonesty. Being dishonest with buyers about car condition may have been profitable in the past, but it will not work with the car buyers of today. They are more knowledgeable and they are fed up.

Before people go to the used car lot they typically search the internet for answers to their questions. They look for car details and prices then compare them to what the car salesman says. If the car salesman is parallel to what the customer found on the internet then the customer will be more trusting to the sales man. This could result in a sale.

Selling used cars is a finical business. The salesman has to treat the buyer with respect and handle their needs carefully. The slightest disagreement could make the buyer go someplace else. With the market the way it is, the car salesman does not want to lose potential buyers.

A good used car salesman will be able to decipher the thoughts and intentions of a potential buyer. This skill is good to have because it will allow the car salesman to meet the needs of the buyer. Understanding the potential buyeras needs will also allow for a better business connection.

Now is a great time to begin selling those used cars. Some of the prices are the lowest they have been in many years so people are beginning to go out and purchase items such as cars. If you are having difficulties then look into training. Books and other materials are available to help you make that sale.

by LJ James

Catskill Mountain Thunder Motorcycle rally 2008

Most of us know that when the first settlers came to America they where following a dream! What most do not know is that many of those dreams where inspired by paintings of the Catskill Mountains. At the beginning of this country’s history artists where mesmerized by the beauty of these mountains and painted many pictures of them. These pictures where sent and sold all over the world and they had a large part in creating what later became know as the American dream.

Fast forward a couple Hundred years to September 10th through the 14th 2008 and now what draws hundreds of American Bikers every year to the Catskill Mountains is the Blackthorne Resort in East Durham and the Catskill Mountain Thunder Motorcycle Rally. This event which is a weekend get away for some and a week long party for others has just about everything a biker dreams of. Even though the Blackthorne Resorts grounds are large, they do fill up fast and Bikers reserve there Cabins, RV sites or Camp sites up to a year in advance just to make sure there is room for them on the grounds. (There are plenty of other resorts in the area who welcome the Biker overflow from the Blackthorne) Me and my Brother Mopar Tom arrived on Thursday Night and the first thing We did was to check out what seemed like a million vendors, Who where selling every thing from Motorcycle stickers to Custom Motorcycles. Then of course it was time to grab some drinks. First drink was at the Tikki Bar by the large in ground pool. The Second was at the Blackthorne’s on premise full service bar. Not wanting to over do it on my first night there (I would save that for my second night) I called it an early night at around 2am and was off to get some sleep.

On Friday the fuse was lit and the weekend festivities got into full swing. I spent the entire day wandering around the Blackthorne checking out everything, drinking and partying with Hundreds of brand new and old friends. As the sun set and the Night began things just got even better! I watched many Bikers take their Motorcycles up in the air and do Ariel Burn outs as I listened to the Music of Molly Hatchet LIVE !

The Nights at Blackthorne Run late and the Mornings come early! Some Choose to start their days off riding around the incredible Catskill Mountains, either in a group on a guided tour or by themselves with no destination at all. The roads in the Catskills go on forever and even after many years of riding them each trip still offers something new ! My favorite spot to ride to has been for many years Nicks Waterfall House in Gilboa, In my opinion no ride threw the Catskills is Complete with out a big burger and a beer at Nicks!

Others who don’t wake till the afternoon can spend their day’s at the Blackthorne checking out the vendors buying new Biker gear, Watching Rhett Rotten and his amazing vintage Wall of Death Motorcycle stunt show, Looking at the art work of Ron Finch, Placing their votes for their favorites in the Bike show, participating in the Bike games or enjoying a list of many other wickedly fun Biker activities. Saturday Night again offered Bikers more then they could handle plus Gorgeous Women Spaghetti Wrestling, Live Ultimate Fighting bouts, Lots more live music and plenty of late night partying. On Sunday some Bikers headed home while others hung around for another day of fun including the great pig roast!

I have been a biker all my life. To this very day the bond of Brotherhood that is shared by bikers still stuns me. I’m not sure if the fact that the Blackthorne is a family resort every other week of the year has anything to do with it, But I found the feeling of Brotherhood and Family to be very strong at this event. When I can hangout and party with Bikers I have just met and feel like I have known them for Twenty years, It strongly reinforces all the reasons I love being a Biker!

I have left out many great things about the Blackthorne and its Catskill Mountain Thunder Motorcycle Rally, The reason for this is because if you missed this event you do not deserve to know all its secrets until you have attended it for yourself !!! Check out CatskillMountainThunder.com and reserve your spot for next years party today!

I’ll see you there! Your Bro L.J. James AmericanBikerX.com

by Dan Carter

All states now require automobile insurance and it is a crime to operate a motor vehicle without the minimum insurance coverage set by each state. Still the reality is that there are many uninsured drivers on the road. So some states will require that you also purchase uninsured motorist insurance.

Uninsured motorists are ten times more likely to drink and drive and three times more likely to be convicted of negligent driving. About 15 percent of drivers do not carry insurance. So it’s not surprising that, one in ten of all drivers have been involved in accidents with uninsured drivers. So what should you do if this happens to you and what can you do to protect yourself?

When an accident happens, it’s hard to know whether or not the other driver has insurance. You should respond the way you would to any accident. Write down as much information as you can about the other car, like make and model, and license and registration numbers. Get the other driver’s information as well, keeping in mind that he might not be telling the truth.

Also note the damage to the other car and the accident scene. Remember to record road signs and markings, light and weather conditions and whether the other car had its lights on. The more detail you can record, the better. If you are fortunate enough to have an independent witness get their full contact details. And if you also happen to have a camera with you, take lots of pictures (try to get one with the other driver clearly in the picture). The police might have use for that one!

If you carry comprehensive auto insurance, then your insurance company will pay for all of the repairs to your car. However, you may lose any discounts that you receive for not filing claims and may have to cover a deductible before the insurance company pays for anything. If you are hit by an uninsured motorist, then you will have to pay the deductible unless your policy specifically waives that requirement.

Drivers that have their cars insured may carry just the minimum legal limit and this may be less than what is necessary to cover any damages in an accident which is their responsibility. Unless you have underinsured motorist insurance, in incidents where the at-fault driver cannot cover the left over expenses out of pocket, these expenses could be left with you.

The most advantageous approach is to drive defensively, always wear a seatbelt, and to purchase uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage with your vehicle insurance policy.

Despite state laws requiring driver’s to carry Auto Insurance, there are still drivers on the road with no insurance coverage at all. Because of these irresponsible drivers, many states now also require the additional purchase of protection from Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverage.

Sales of cars with many challenges, especially when the U.S. is the current unstable economic environment may come. It’s now more than ever that the country is around the car sales managers and salespeople to find buyers even if the economic situation of some innovative sales prospecting learn techniques are important.

Life events than economic events, ergo, those that need to buy a car if the economy is a good or bad. However, those that might \”want\” to buy a car, probably put it off until they see how the economy will move. The challenge is to find buyers and buyers need to buy a car that you want to show them that now is the right time.

Many cars and vehicles and agents to provide comprehensive training to sales staff, which is certainly useful. However, in order to maintain the success of your sale during these difficult times, it is extremely important that you very constructive in the sale of auto sales training exploration of ideas as well.

Some in the industry who has been the longest biggest car will come from selling the devices. After all, they’ve seen in the market through good and bad, and maybe that has worked for them for years with several strategies you can offer. The motor vehicle sales prospecting your own collection of ideas to start training a great place.

His gleaning ideas from experienced professionals certainly can be helpful, but this is one place that you do not want to see. Are going to court and get a list of families who only have been discharged bankruptcies in the market that maybe very soon for a new vehicle are going to be a major source of clues was. Divorce decrees also are great places or people who are still in the market for clues to take.

Of course, there very good leadership to find other places as well are doing. They gas prices, your service department manager who might be happy in their recent gains with the gas are not to have seen some customers are as high as being with. These leads are golden. First, because they already have and what you bought with your relationship with your customers are continued, and second because you have a new, more fuel efficient vehicles by buying a lot of money to save the situation Into the can.

Another great place to look for prospecting purposes to the police report, with the recent losses that have been totaled in the details of the cars is. These new vehicles and a lot of people are going to need soon, if you can likely they are first, some additional sales, you will be able to clean every quarter.

Of course this is just a few examples of many car sales training exploration of ideas. When establishing your program to provide training for your sales staff, and I am sure that more ideas surface, but this should be obtained Gear pump in the right direction. Sales rather than what is happening, but what you make that happen.

Camper vans have many optional extras and facilities and most first time buyers or hirers, do not have all the information to make an informed choice over which van to choose. A lot of people will be taken in by the styling of a camper and will pay little attention to the actual facilities. Most campers have basic facilities as standard, enough to just about cover a few nights away. Optional extras can though, make a big difference to your comfort levels.

You should consider a number of factors, such as family size today and what it may become in the near future. Your needs will change as your family grows and now may be the time to plan ahead. The kind of trips you wish to make can also have a bearing on the vehicle most suited to your needs. Buying or renting presents different considerations with regards to price as does whether you go for a new or second hand vehicle.

Consider some of the available optional extras in the next few paragraphs and deciding whether these are an absolute must for you now, could save you money in the long term. New or used, buying or renting choosing the right mix of extras can make all the difference to a long road trip.

Campers often have plenty of seating, some for up to eight people, but may only sleep four or five at the most. This is often made up of two adults and two children or sometimes three young children. A camper should be spacious enough in the day time so as to allow ease of movement for all the family. At night, space is often at a premium due to the nature of bed arrangements. Generally even the cheapest will have some daytime space, the expense is often down to how much space is required at night. Try to find the right mix for your budget.

After the sleeping arrangments, the next thing you should check is the living area and kitchen. Among the best facilities, some of which are only optional, we could include air conditioners, microwaves, water heaters, furnaces, not to mention TV and sound systems. Solar panels are one other great additional element, that meets both ecological and comfort purposes. Moreover, if you want to personalize your camper van, there are many companies that offer customizing services. Thus, you can decide for yourself the colour of the upholstery, whether its leather or fabric and even down to what floor covering is used.

A comfortable drivers seat is a must for those long journeys and many prefer the feel of a quality leather seat. Storage is at a premium on most campers and that is why you will find many extra storage options. Some of the larger ones even have a cooler for drinks with drain holes in case of spillage. Some vans offer small compartments in the floor that are ideal for smaller item storage.

Quite often simple looking designs, with as little decorations as possible not only make the camper van interior look roomy, but can also be very stylish and elegant. Some more facilities you may want to include are electric flush toilets and even a built in shower. However, as always remember the guiding principles for all such improvements is to keep it space efficient, comfortable and functional. The last thing you want to do is to fill up your camper van with so many extras, that there’s little room left for comfort.

No matter you are driving a car or a motorcycle and even a lorry, you need to know how to save fuel. It doesn’t matter whether the fuel is expensive or cheap because by saving fuel, you help to save the environment as well. This is very important to make sure that the fuel is not wasted after all fuel is a non renewable energy that is running out soon. Besides, saving fuel means saving money as well since you don’t have to spend so much to fill up your tank.

So, how can you help to save fuel? First of all, it is crucial to make sure that you don’t leave your engine idling for too long especially for the warming because it takes only 30 - 45 seconds to do the trick. If you leave your engine idling for one minute it will use up as much as it takes for start up. That is quite a lot of waste so make sure you follow this carefully.

Of course, when you want to accelerate, always start slowly. Don’t speed up as soon as you move because you will use up more fuel than necessary. There is no need to speed up so quickly because you will catch up with the speed eventually. All you need is a little patience.

Try to avoid air conditioning because it will use more fuel than you ever imagine. Try to use the vent instead of the air conditioning and leave your car windows up. When you lower you car windows you will increase the drag of your car and end up using more fuel to generate the energy needed to move your car forward. This is unnecessary since you can use the vent and keep the windows up.

Avoid filling gas when it is the hottest time of the day. For example, try to fill up in the morning when it is cooler and you get to save more fuel instead of having them evaporate into the thin air. Use a good engine oil will help to prolong your engine’s life and save fuel consumption. If you follow these rules properly, I am sure you will be able to save up more than you know especially after a year. You can feel the difference.

Several factors should also be taken into consideration, like your current family size and what it may become in the future, as well as the kind of trips you plan to take, the insurance and so on. It also depends on whether you buy a new vehicle or a second hand camper van.

My intention is to show you some of the available options for new camper vans, which will equally enable you to know what to expect from a well-kept second hand one. Whether you choose minimum conversion models or completely self-contained, keep in mind that you can always improve something later, should it be the case.

The living area, including the kitchen are where you will find the most optional extras. As this is the main family working and resting area, comfort and ease of use are prime considerations. Everything from televisions, to microwaves, air conditioning, cookers and expensive music sound systems can be installed customized to your exact needs. Seating areas can be covered in fabric or luxurious leather, floors can be carpeted or tiled. You can even opt for solar panels to save on battery power. Sticking to your budget in the living areas will probably be the hardest of all, just think about how much of your time will be spent in the van.

One option you may wish to include is a driver’s leather seat. High quality leather is durable and comfortable particularly for long journeys. You may also wish to consider more storage space, there are optional extra compartments that come in a variety of sizes. Some of the larger extra compartments usually include water drains in case you have to store liquids. Smaller compartments may not have such features and are often found at floor level, but still offer some great storage space.
