CZ52 Help?
I own and shoot a vintage Czech Cz52 (or Vz52)
Does anyone know where I can get information about the gun using the serial number on it? (eg: website?)
Also, the gun smells horrible. I think its from the 50 year old grease. (wow) I also need a website where it shows me how to dismantle the gun. (I can already field strip it)
Then what do I replace the 50+ year old grease with? I don't know what the gun is made of, I do think it's iron.
Finally, what materials can I use to polish it? I have a can of brasso in the garage, will that work?
Sorry for all the questions, GREATLY APPRECIATE it if you answer them.

Yep, blast it with brake or carb cleaner. Do it outside and use gloves. Wipe dry and then oil with gun oil or Break-Free.
That dull finish is called Parkerizing....do not use anything abrasive or you will ruin it. Military weapons are supposed to be dull, so Ivan can't see you at night.
I noticed Sportsman's Guide has cans of 7.62x25 ammo for you. Better stock up on that before it's all gone. After that, unless you reload that fine piece of Czech engineering will be a paperweight.
I had one and liked it, then someone came along and offered me a Persian Mauser rifle for it, so it's gone.
