Do you like cross force wrenches?
I recently bought 1 cross force wrench (made by Gear Wrench) from sears. I think it's great because you can put more power in them. The ratcheting part faces 1 way and the open part another way so you push on the larger part of the wrench. I think ergonomically it makes doing work easier. What's your opinion? I am thinking of buying a complete set of them.
As an engineer of some 40 odd years I can see the physical benefits on the hands. If you're using the ring end on the nut you don't have the edge of the open end digging into the palm.
One hassle I do envisage, though, is the tendency to over-tighten nuts. If you need to tighten to real specifics then you should use a torque wrench. With smaller nuts you'll end up doing a lot of thread stripping. On the whole, though, probably a hell of a lot more comfortable. Professionalism should however rely on you knowing how much pressure you're applying. If a standard wrench is made to the correct dimensions then this should have been taken into account in the manufacture of the length of the wrench.
