Whats the best way to clean up a pair of Chevy small block heads?
Picked up a pair of small block double hump heads today. Would like to clean them up and store them until the time comes to have them reworked. They are pretty grimed up from years of sitting. Would pressure washing them be the best bet? Also, I have a bead blasting cabinet at my disposal. After cleaning, would bead blasting damage the heads in any way?
Take them to a machine shop or get some Gunk or kerosene
and a brass wire brush. You don't want any water or abrasive residue left in them. Coat them with oil and wrap in heavy plastic to store.
