What is the best method of removing paint from exterior trim?

I have a victorian house that needs the trim to be more than just "scraped", it needs completely stripped. I've been working with the heat gun, but it is so time consuming and difficult to do high up on a ladder. I'm thinking of trying chemicals and/or a pressure washer. What is the best method to use?
