What information do you have on the Honda Metropolitan scooter?

I'm 21 years old and interested in buying a Hondo Metropolitan. I've had cars since age 16, but I live in the city and only drive for small errands (groceries, post office, bank, restaurants, small trips like that). Is the Metro street legal? How fast does it go? Do I need a special motorcycle license? I'm currently licensed (for regular car), registered, titled, plated vehicle and Progressive insured. What steps do I need to take to legally drive the Metro? Anyone who has owned one or driven a similar scooter, I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts. With rising gas prices and a distaste for interstate/highway driving, I really think this is the way to go. I always take a taxi to the airport, and I always fly for trips or vacation, so it sounds like a reasonable compromise.
