Transmission Problem?
Hi, I have a 1995 Chevy 2500 two door with a small block 350, and a rebuilt automatic trany in it. When I went to the car wash yesterday I washed the engine out with the pressure washer, when I got on the road the transmission was not shifting properly. the rmps would go to 3000 + with no sign of shifting and i would still be in first gear, if i let of the gas the transmission would shift into second and so on. While i went out to the truck about an hour latter to check the fluid, the fluid was not burnt and had no metal shavings in it. Then i tried to start the truck it would not start, all it would do is turn over. It didn’t even attempt to start. If anyone could help me with this problem i would be very thankful, right now im out of town and I have no other means of transportation. Thank you
wonderin wandering brain has no clue, and he does not know what he is talking about, that is an electronic transmission, it runs by the computer telling it what to do, since you dumped a few hundred gallons of water in the wrong places, you obviously got something wet that was not supposed to be wet there are plenty of things under the hood that should not be pressure washed, now unfortunately you are going to pay the price, There may be water in the distributor, but this is not the only problem, you need to be very careful you can ruin expensive computers easily, most are water resistant, but not set up for a high pressure bath. You may have to take the truck to the mechanic.
