motocross pros help!?

okay this is my first atv/dirt bike i have ridden them before, my cousin races motocross professionally
im lookin for fun all round, riding on road, dirt, snow, and i would like to start racing in ametuer league, also im into mechanics and this is an alternative to a muscle car project. i would like to upgrade stuff as well.

the atv is a honda 250ex dont know what year and its for $800

the dirtbike is a 1990 kdx 200, 6spd manual- i read these bikes are great. its a 2 stroke and everything is good and its been garaged. its also $800

which one would be all round fun and be a great star for racing and also easy to upgrade/lots of parts avail

Neither one is made for motocross racing. You could race hare scrambles on either. The KDX200 is a great and very fun bike though. But no, you can't race race MX on either one.
