How to put together a Kick Boxing Dummy?

I am wanting to take up kick boxing, but need a homemade dummy to practice on. So far, the best idea is to get an Army Duffel Bag and fill it with cotton... Any other suggestions, even for good filler ( as that much cotton is hard to come by ).
Oh, and is there a way to add legs or should I just stack two duffel bags?

Are you trying to make a heavy bag or a mock upper tosro body target?

Honestly with either one of these your going to spend more money making your own, or have a really crappy bag.

However, here's the concept of both designs so you have a better idea.
A heavy bag is suspend by hooks and chains it has a set weight around 75-125lbs depending on the bag. It is tightly packed with cottons and sands making it firm at the top simulating the resistance of arms and a head and rock hard toward the bottom simulating legs and core resistance. the bag moves and spins as you hit it of course the better you become at hitting the less likely it will spin. This is why there are on appendages sticking out to hurt you, in the event of a spin or incorrectly hitting the bag.

An upper torso model is rubber material molded like a human but has a soft give to your punches, the resistance is in the base where the target rocks of recoils from. you can set the weight by adding water or sand to the base.

the heavy bags in my area go for about $60-125, the torsos $80-300
depending on digital add on's.

in the long run unless you have the proper material laying around you'll probably spend more money creating a decent bag / target . A bag full of clothes has no appropriate weight or resistance that you need, youd be better off hanging a sand / cement filled tire and hitting it with 16oz gloves for a ghetto cheap way out.
