What do you do with your motorcycle gear?
I am thinking about getting a motorcycle, a Yamaha r6. I am going to be getting full leather gear and everything. I really don't care what other people think about it, because I am going to be thanking god if I ever wreck.. No way i am going to get a ton of road rash if its avoidable. But one question I have is if you are going somewhere, like a restaurant or the movies or something, is there any way to store your gear? I want to get a back pack, and I think that might work, I could put the gloves inside, and I could fold up the pants and jacket and just store it inside the backpack, but what about the helmet? Any advice from some experienced riders?
i agree with all of you, getting a 250 is a far better choice then getting a r6, id much rather drop a 250.. and your right, putting some time in on a less powerful bike is probably a good idea i can build some confidence and learn more about riding. and i am sure itd be far more difficult to do on a 600cc bike for a first timer.
a full leather or mesh jacket and gloves and helmet.. and riding boots are what you need for most of the time and city riding..leather pants for a night out is over kill. yeah it may say you a week ot 2 od road rash if you drop the bike.. but life is more simple with out them ( a day trip wear them hiway commute etc.)
i have a OGIO backpack stuffed under my seat.. the jacket and gloves go in the bag.. the helmet gets locked to the bike.
now.. an R^ is NOT a learners bike!!! its a KILL THE NEWBIE bike!!
an r6 makes more more power than a ninja 1000 did 10 yeas ago..and thats not a starter bike by any means!
get a 250 and put 3ooo miles on it.. the get your fav bike.. sounds stupid.. but dropping your r6 will cost you more to fix than a new 250.
