Freestyle Motocross Help!?
Hey,
I'm a 19 year old male and I'm looking to buy a 2 - stroke dirt bike for strictly freestyle. The Suzuki RM125 caught my eye but the only problem is that I'm only 5' 5'' tall and 160lbs. I feel if I get anything lower than a 2 -stroke 125 (like a RM85L) that I will look like a kid and not be able to perform on some of the ramps or do some tricks. Will not being able to touch the ground affect my ability to do freestyle? Is there any way to modify the dirt bike so that it fits me better? Another alternative that I thought of is buying an ATV but I would really like to buy a dirt bike. I would highly appreciate any suggestions.

I'm 5"4, 105lbs (Yes, my mx friends call me shorty..).
I have a 2-stroke 250 bike and I can't touch the ground when I'm on it, I have to put my left leg on the bike stand and kick start it. You just have to be confident to ride a bigger bike than your build. If you're not a confident rider, you will freak out on a bigger bike, because it is like riding with your legs strapped to the bike.
If you're just learning freestyle/track/riding/whatever
85s are slower than 125, but more aggressive. It's not a good freestyle bike though. Infact, I'm not sure about doing freestyle with anything under 150s...i.e. not enough power.
125s are good bikes. I also have 125s (you can see the list of bikes I play with on my profile.) For my husky cr125, I took it to the bike shop and they lowered it for me, then I took the seat to another shop to have the foam trimmed/shaven out. I can put my left foot flat on the ground, but not two at the same time...
ATV <--- Yes, I like one too...someday =).
Go try that RM125, but it may not give you enough air to do heaps of stuff
