Is the $2000 Navigation system worth getting in the 2009 Hondas or are a portable units good enough?
I am buying a new 2009 Honda Accord EX-L but I am wondering if I should get it with or w/o Nav. I have read that its a little dated technology for something that expensive. Also the dealer has said that the Navi comes with a rear view camera which I have seen no evidence of other than sales talk. Since technology changes so fast, which is better for the long run? On-board navi or portable?
I think it depends on how long you plan on keeping the car. If you plan on keeping the car no more than about 7 or 8 years then I would get it, as it looks better when its flush in the dashboard, versus a portable unit sitting on top of your dash
HOWEVER, if you plan on keeping the car for 10 years or more then I would not get it. Technology updates and changes quickly, imagine having a 15 year old computer at home. That would suck. When the car is 10, or 15 years old the stock nav will be extremely outdated and ugly by then
