how to hook up my power acoustik 6 farad capacitor?
i have a distribution block with 3 output, 2 conected to my amps and 1 conected to my capacitor but the problem i am having is that my capacitor is turning itself on when my stereo is off therefore,it drains the car battery.
The capacitor has two terminals on each side. The terminals are different sizes. I am assuming it is for different gauges of wire but I am not sure.
One other question I want to ask, is why my car lights dim when I turn my stereo up?
A cap just goes in parallel of the power going to the amps.
All it does is stores a charge for a short time as to not draw and to assist with not loading down the battery for a short burst. The cap should not be drawing that much to kill the battery. As far as your lights you are drawing more then the battery can put out along with the alternator. You will need to get a higher amp generator and a bigger CCA battery. Or just turn it down. jk
