Sony To Stop Making Car Electronics?

I just heard at work (Large Retail Store) that one of our installers here talked with another car stereo retail store and he heard that Panasonic and Sony were going stop making car audio. Panasonic has already stopped and Sony will stop manufacturing in the near future. Things like car stereos, amplifiers, subwoofers, and such.

Anyone hear anything about this? Is Sony going to stop making car audio?

Something might have been misconstrued in the conversation.

Maybe they may temporarily stop making car audio as in the production line, but neither are going to stop making car audio altogether.

The global economy is in a rut - and it's quite possible that they may have an overstock of inventory. Wouldn't worry about them going out completely though.
