with no black marks on the fuse this tells me there is not ashort to ground but only the need for more current. i went to the 10 amp fuse it worked fine and only blew ( with melt away) only when i held both switches for about 10 -15 seconds past full up and or down movements. this is not a normal method of using power windows but i was testing for failure. i have been satisfied with my testing procedures. since i was satisfied with that i took apart the old fuse block looking for failure signs. no tracers were melted. no discolored terminals all are shiny as should be. i feel there was a problem that was found after the install of the new block but plenty of hush hush is at the techs lips. this car is only 2 weeks old and i do have a fair amount of accessories insallation knowledge. i have found that most techs will right away place blame on accessories. i was looking for a way to measure the draw in the circuit with the windows and without to see prove no overload of the circuit.tia
Place a current meter in series with window motor, see how many amps it is pulling at the start and with it in continuous motion. It could be that something is binding as it starts, which would cause the higher draw of current at the start. if you have any specs for that motor consult it
