Transfer music from a cassette to a desk top computer?

How do I transfer music from a cassette to my desktop, to burn it onto a cd.? Computer is a Dell 8200: stereo cassette deck: Sony TC - K611S. Thanks.

Depends on what version of Windoze you are running but essentially, you have everything you need except for some cables and adapters to fit things together. On your computer, there is a jack, labeled as "LINE-IN". You connect the earphone output to this as an input. You need the appropriate jacks to fit each end. You will have to adjust the earphone output very low to avoid overdriving the line input. You have a recorder built in to Windoze which will take the signal from either the MIC or LINE input and digitizing the analog signal and make WAV files. You can then take these WAV files and using the Windoze Media Player, copy them to a CD. Now, if you want to more than this, you need a program to do the work. Try doing a search at either http://www.tucows.com or http://www.download.com for MP3 recording programs. Both sites have a wealth of free and shareware programs to do just about anything.
