What kind of cable do I need for an iPod to car?
I have a Chevrolet Tahoe with the aux port on the dash of the radio, can anyone recommend me a brand name and model for a cord to plug in the ipod to the stero so I can play my ipod on the stereo?
There are two kinds of cables you could use. It depends on what type of aux port your CD deck has. If it has a headphone jack then you will need a "headphone jack to headphone jack" cable. If you have an RCA port then you will need an "RCA to headphone jack" cable (see pics below).
Personally, I would not recommend a brand name cable. I would just buy a generic cable which can be found at most electronic stores (I went to Radio Shack). If you go to a major electronics store go to the section that has all of the wires and cables. If you go to the mp3 section they will probably only display the more expensive cables.
The first link below is what a generic cable would look like. The second link has a picture of a brand name cable. You can pretty much tell just by looking at them; brand name cables usually look "nicer." A generic cable will probably cost you around $5 dollars. I would not recommend buying a brand name cable because they cost more money and you won't even notice any difference in sound. Plus, the money it would cost you to buy one brand name cable you could buy two (or more) generic ones - one for your car and one for your house.
