What would you rate the sound quality of aftermarket kick panel pods?
About a year ago I bought a set of Q-logic kick panel pods to mount my MB Quart Premium Series components. The fit (to the car) isnt quite perfect so they arent exactly sealed. Every so often I wonder if the sound quality is suffering. I am just wondering if anyone else has felt the same about this product? On a side note I am running the speakers with a JBL 4-channel amp running 100 watts RMS per channel. Any feedback would be appreciated.
/ Haha!
-MB Quart are VERY good speakers!
High frequency speakers are almost all infinite-baffle. Meaning, they were not designed to be used in sealed enclosures.
400watts RMS is really good and it should be adequate. I have 330watts RMS on my door/dash speakers and it's loud And clear, even at 80mph on the interstate with the windows down.
Do you have the high-pass filter (hpf) on?
Are the gains set correctly?
-These two things, mostly gain settings, are WAY overlooked and can attribute to crappy sound, even with the best of amps/speakers.
