1997 BMW 528i Questions?
I am interested in buying a 1997 bmw 528i with 119k for 5900. It has tined rims, an aftermarket speaker system, a aftermarket radio, lcd screens in the sun visor and headrests, and no body flaws. I am not sure on the engine care situation, but it looks as if it has been very well taken care of, it has automatic transmission. ANy input on the cars would be great. Nothing has been replaced on the car.
I have a 97 528 and it has 174K miles on it. Two of the main things you should be looking at are the automatic transmission and shocks. You need to take it to a mechanic that knows BMWs and have him check it out. There is not much you can do to check the transmission but he can look at everything else and give his opinion. The engines are great and if the oil has been changed periodically it will go at least another 150K miles. They are nice cars bur it will need a new transmission before it hits 200K. Just make sure you have enough money to pay to have one put in.
