When a person purchases a pickup truck, chances are it will be used for hauling many things. Sometimes it may not be the things of the owner, but things friends need help moving. There are a number of things that can cause damage to the bed of a truck. All pick ups should have a truck bed covers installed to protect it.

The most popular type of truck bed cover is the kind that can be removed with ease. This type is designed with the perfect measurements of a truck bed and laid flat inside the bed. The other cheap popular truck bed cover is the mat style. All this is, is a thick rubber mat that can be taken out in order to clean under them.

Another common type of truck bed cover is a cap. A cap fits directly to the top of the truck bed edge and sealed with foam to avoid leaks. A cap is used to protect equipment while being hauled, such as hunting and fishing equipment. Caps usually lock to keep anything under it from being stolen.

Next is the tarp truck bed cover. A tarp is usually black, and snaps into place creating the entire bed to be covered. Tarps collect dust more than any other type of truck bed cover, but they look nice if they are clean. Removal and replacement of a tarp can be a very difficult task. The tarp must be warm so it can stretch otherwise there will be some resistance.

Tanaeu covers provide the best protection against weather and thieves. These types of covers give the truck a solid back end look, because they are painted the same color of the truck and are made of fiberglass material. There is usually hydraulics that compensates the weight and makes opening and closing extremely easy. There is also a locking mechanism that locks the cover to the tailgate.

Finally, there are many types of truck bed covers to choose from. Depending on what protection is needed or what type of truck is owned, will decide which type of cover to install. New trucks are not factory equipped with any type of bed cover in most cases. You may have to request the style you desire.
